Der Trog
A contactless breath-to-water interface. Video
Der Trog is a contactless breath-to-water interface. The user approaches a cube filled with water. The surface of the water is calm and black, seamlessly merging into the cube. There is no intention for action, besides a chair that is located on the opposite side from the approaching user. The user will take a seat on the chair and start breathing: the water reacts by moving in waves. The user is intended to sit and breath until they gain focus on the feedback.
The interface is based on a Computer Vision system. It will through a thermal camera detect slight temperature changes on the skin around nose and mouth and derive whether the user is breathing in and out.
